Printable kids charts are extremely helpful tools you can use to help your child mature in practical matters as well as attitude.

Kids need guidance to grow and mature in ways that are helpful to them as well as their families. Obviously, there are lots of ways to accomplish this as a parent, and an easy way to get in extra growing-up vitamins, so to speak, is to use printable chore charts for kids.

The key to using free printable kids charts - especially chore charts for young kids - is to add structure to them.

  • Have a training session for anything you put on a kids chart.

  • Be clear about your expectations with your child for chore chart items.

  • Set boundaries: what will happen when your child completes the items on the chart? What happens when he doesn't get his work done on time?

  • Enforce what you've clearly said to your child. In other words, mean what you say and say ONLY what you mean!
  • Using free printable behavior charts for kids means you can structure and modifiy individual behaviors as opposed to simply keeping track of chores, etc.

Seems like a no-brainer idea when it comes to utilizing chore charts kids can use to learn from, doesn't it?

But the truth is, as parents we struggle with these simple concepts all the time. I know I have. It's easy to have good intentions when parenting a child, it's another thing to follow through consistently, each and every time your child presses you on a rule or an expectation.

That's why free printable kids charts can help us as parents every bit as much as help our kids. Once you get clear with your child about chores, responsibilities, etc., whatever is going on the kids chart, as a parent you don't have to carry all this info around in your head.

Because it's right there on the chore or behavior chart.

So make lots of notes on these blank chore charts. They are here to serve you, Mom or Dad. Your child will take the chart (and the accompanying jobs) more seriously if he sees the muscle you are putting into the free chart.

Look at it this way: when you use tools such as chore charts kids are able to be held accountible in a very concrete and visual way. They know what's expected of them; after all, it's right there on the chart.

Let's talk about attitude and using printable chore charts for kids.

Free behavior charts work especially well for helping a child "see" his attitudes and grow an awareness of how his attitudes impact others.

Improvement of an attitude can be the goal of a behavior chart. You can keep track of how often your child really has an attitude problem - which is an important thing to do as a parent. Sometimes the actual data will show you there is not as big a problem as you thought; your irritation with the problem has made it seem bigger than it is.

Other times, however, keeping notes on these printable chore charts for kids (and you'll want to do this privately, at first) will tell you that yes, indeed, your child does have an attitude problem, it is not just your imagination.

In that case, use a new printable kids chart to help your child set goals for improving her attitude. When you 'catch' her doing well, praise her and give her credit on the chart. I don't care how old your child is, she will like the positive feedback and attention (whether she admits it or not).

Working together with your child, over time and in a positive manner, you can guide your precious son or daughter into a better attitude. This process can also facilitate a closer relationship with your child, as you prove to him you are truly on his side.

So remember, using chore charts for young kids can help you stay focused and on task, which is a huge part of any goal-getting activity.

You can do this! I want to encourage you, Mom or Dad. Parenting is certainly one of the most rewarding adventures you can embark on in life. Go for it!
